Softball to host summer clinics

MEQUON, Wis. – Head coach Steve Crook and the Concordia University Wisconsin Softball program will once again be hosting summer clinics at the CUW Softball Field, providing an opportunity for advanced softball players to better their skills.

The Falcons will be hosting three clinics this summer. The first two will be advanced clinics, the first of those for pitchers and catchers, and the second an advanced defensive clinic. These advanced clinics will have limited space and will cost $50 each. The pitchers and catchers clinic is set for Tuesday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. UPDATE: The advanced defensive clinic on July 10 is now full.

CUW will also host summer clinics from July 31 through August 3. On July 31 and August 2, the Falcons will host a pitcher's and catchers clinic for $100. That camp will run from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Falcons will also run an infield and outfield skills clinic on August 1st and 3rd. Players from age 10-13 will attend a camp from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and ages 14-17 will run from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Campers who register for either of the two-day camps by July 10 will receive a free t-shirt.

The pitching clinic will allow players to work with Falcons pitching coach Patrick Steele, who will provide an advanced session, helping players understand pitching at the next level. The camp is limited to just six pitchers.

The catching clinic, which will run along with the pitching clinic, will focus on progressive skill development. Players will be coached by the Falcons coaching staff, along with current players and the camp will run similar to a Falcons practice. The catching clinic is also limited to six players.

The advanced defensive skills clinic on July 10 is full.
