Men's Tennis Opens the Year at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team opened the year at the DePauw Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) competed in the singles open draw one and opened the day with a 6-2, 7-6 (2), 10-7 victory over Jake Fascione of Hanover. Finley Buelte of DePauw then topped him in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-1.

In flight two, freshman Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wis.) lost to Diego Marquez Calderon of DePauw, 6-4, 6-2. Latus responded with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Grant Paradowski of Rose-Hulman.

Sophomore Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) fell in the third flight to Dilippo Fassone of DePauw, 4-6, 7-5, 10-3. He then bounced back with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jaya Siva of Hanover.

At flight four, freshman Ryan Bilan (Greendale, Wis.) was bounced by Jacob Louiselle of DePauw, 6-2, 6-0. Bilan then lost to Tyler Wood of Ohio Northern, 6-0, 6-4.

Senior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) put up a fight at flight five, but lost to Sylan Lemon of Anderson, 7-6 (5)m 7-5, 10-5. Kessler Hackenberger then topped him, 6-2, 6-0.

Freshman James Murphy (Crawfordsville, Ind.) fought at flight six, but came short against Davis Borders of Anderson, 6-1, 6-2. Junior Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) lost to Noah Boyce of Ohio Northern, 6-1, 6-1, and then to Ephraim Guthrie of Rose-Hulman 6-1, 6-2.

Eli Mcintyre of Rose-Holman sank senior Benjamin Vorpahl (Sheboygan, Wis.) at flight seven, 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles flight one, Joshua Klement and Landon Sather were defeated by Ohio Northern, 8-4.

DePauw secured an 8-4 victory over James Murphy and Hayden Latus at flight two.

Renan Revite and Ryan Bilan battled at flight three but fell to Ohio Northern, 8-6.

The Birds won at flight four with Dylan Nadolski and sophomore Kristopher Greenhaw (Huntington Beach, Calif.) against Ohio Northern, 8-4. Benjamin Vorpahl and Noah Lange were defeated by Anderson, 8-3.

The Falcons close the tournament on Sunday.
