Falcons fall to Dominican in NCAA Qualifier 2-1

RIVER FOREST, Ill.-  Concordia Wisconsin scored first, when senior Tyler Harris (De Pere, Wis.) pounded home the rebound of a shot that had glanced off the post, but that only served to wake the sleeping giant that is Dominican soccer.

The talent-laden Stars tied the match prior to halftime and then got the game-winner just six minutes into the second half.

Concordia senior goalkeeper Sam Ische (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) made several spectacular second half saves to keep the contest within reach.

CUW battled gamely, and had a pair of excellent opportunities before it was over, but DomU improved to 18-2-1 with the head-earned victory while the Falcons ended their season at 11-8-2.

Dominican has earned a berth in the National Tournament each of the past six seasons and has not lost a regular season conference match since the Northern Athletics Conference was formed.

"They are a great team and we gave them everything we had," offered CUW Coach Tom Saleska.  They (DomU) will represent our conference well at the Tournament."
