Falcon men's soccer can earn NCAA Tournament berth with win Saturday

MEQUON, Wis.-  Tom Saleska's Concordia Wisconsin soccer team will travel to River Forest, Illinois on Saturday to meet perennial powerhouse Dominican (15-2-1) in a 1:00pm match.  The winner of that contest will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Third seeded CUW (11-7-2) needed a 4-3 shootout advantage over Aurora to earn their championship match spot Wednesday afternoon, while top seeded Dominican broke a 1-1 tie with MSOE on a goal by Logan Marvin in the 78th minute to advance.

The Falcons, who finished tied for second in the NAC during the regular season, dropped a 2-1 decision to DomU during the regular season, with the Stars scoring the game-winner in the 88th minute.

"We are the underdog and have nothing to lose," explained Saleska.  "Our players showed grit and determination on the road against Aurora in the semi-finals and know that a similar effort will be needed Saturday."
