Gio Nowotarski Named to D3football.com Team of the Week
MEQUON, Wis. – The final regular season Team of the Week was announced by D3football.com on Tuesday morning. Gio Nowotarski was selected for the team for his performance against Wisconsin Lutheran.
Gio Nowotarski, a senior from Reading, Pennsylvania, is claiming the honor for the first time in his career.
Nowotarski was named to the team for his special teams play against WLC.
In the second quarter, he scooped up and returned a blocked field goal for 66 yards and a touchdown.
This is the second time a Falcon was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week this season. Sophomore Logan Navis secured the honor on November 5 after his record-breaking performance in the Cheese Bowl victory.
Nowotarski is the eighth Falcon to claim a selection, joining Austin Damaschke in 2013, Eric Hamilton twice in 1999, Justice Kaneta and Marquiton Sellers in 2023, Cedric Simmons twice in 2002, and Mike Steinmetz in 2006.
Nowotarski and the Falcons finished the year at 6-3 and with a 0.500 or better winning percentage for the seventh consecutive season.
