Esports weekly recap (March 4-13)

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin continues to elevate its level of play in the esports world, winning its first Rocket League game this semester.

The Falcons' Team Blue earned the first Rocket League win in program history, with a 3-1 decision over Southern Mississippi B. The trio of Alex Reimer (Biggzy), Ethan Koch (GreenEcho51) and Tyler Salvador (xxDrThreatxx51) combined to win the second and third rounds by scores of 4-1 before winning 5-1 in the fourth round. This was after losing the first round 3-2. Threat scored eight goals, while GreenEcho51 had five and Biggzy tallied a pair of markers. xxDrThreatxx51 had four assists and 23 shots, while GreenEcho51 took 15 shots.

In other Rocket League games, Team Blue lost 3-0 to Montana and Davenport. In those matches, each gamer scored a goal and GreenEcho51 combined for nine saves. Team White dropped a pair of 3-0 decision to Dickinson State and MSOE. Joshua Klausmeier (SpaceMonkeyMafX) and Christan Prohl  (FadingGalaxy) scored goals in those matches, while SpaceMonkeyMafX had 10 saves and rackketytam made seven saves.

Austin Lichtenstein (Augi) and Colby Williams (GingiThe4Head) teamed up to finish in a tie for 23rd during their weekly Fortnite league. The duo placed 16th, 14th and sixth in the three rounds, while GingiThe4Head had three eliminations and Augi had one elimination.
