Acrobatics and Tumbling Posts Season-High Score in Indiana

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Concordia Wisconsin acrobatics & tumbling team finished the road portion of the 2024 season on Sunday at Trine. The Falcons finished the day with a season-high score of 233.835 points.

The Falcons opened the day with 32.10 points in the compulsory event. CUW posted 9.45 points in the pyramid heat and 9.50 points in the toss heat.

Concordia recorded a season-high 24.90 points in the acro event on Sunday. The Falcons shattered the season-high score in the six-element heat with 8.80 points. The Birds also scored 8.95 points in the seven-element heat with senior Paityn Taormina (Geneva, Ill.), junior Ellen Marie Sanders (Joppa, Md.), senior Eliana Schmit (Germantown, Wis.) and senior Haleigh Komprood (Janesville, Wis.).

The Blue and White scored nine or more points in all three pyramids on Sunday for the first time in 2024 with a season-best score of 27.95 points. The inversion pyramid scored a season-high 9.00 points. The synchronized pyramid also reached a season-best score of 9.35 points. The open pyramid secured 9.60 points with Paityn Taormina, junior Madisen Arendt (Waukesha, Wis.), Haleigh Komprood, Eliana Schmit and sophomore Ainslee Taylor (Alto, Mich.).

The toss event tallied 25.30 points for the Blue and White. The synchronized toss tied the season high at 8.70 points.

The Falcons soared to new heights in the tumbling event with a season-high score of 46.275 points. They started the day with Paityn Taormina and Ellen Marie Sanders with a season-high mark of 8.45 points in the duo pass, tying the program record. The six-element pass soared with 8.025 points for the highest mark of the year with Ellen Marie Sanders. Paityn Taormina excelled once again in the open pass at 8.925 points for her best score of the year.

Concordia closed the day with 77.31 points in the team event.

The Falcons close the regular season at home against Augustana on April 6.
