Acrobatics & Tumbling Took on Trine

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin acrobatics & tumbling team finished the home portion of the schedule on Sunday afternoon against Trine. The Falcons fell to Trine on Sunday, 234.630 to 238.685. The loss sends CUW to 2-5 on the year.  

The Falcons opened the day with 32.40 points in the compulsory event. The Falcons scored 9.4 points in the pyramid heat and 9.20 points in the toss heat.  

CUW collected 22.35 points in the acro event and edged the Thunder with 8.10 points in the six-element heat.  

The Blue and White reached 27.20 points in the pyramid event. CUW scored 9.10 points in the inversion pyramid and 9.80 points in the open pyramid.  

The Falcons took a bite out of the deficit with 28.90 points in the toss event. Concordia topped Trine in all three heats and scored 9.250 points in the 450 salto heat.  

The birds landed 45.300 points in the tumbling event. CUW had a season-best score of 6.95 points in the duo pass with senior Jessi Alexander (Plainfield, Ill.) and sophomore Ellen Marie Sanders (Joppa, Md.). Junior Paityn Taormina (Geneva, Ill.)  had 8.825 points in the open pass.  

Concordia closed the day with 80.63 points in the team event.  

The Falcons will fly south to Texas in April for the NCATA Division III Championships.
