Acrobatics & Tumbling Beats the Bulldogs

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Concordia Wisconsin acrobatics & tumbling team took on Adrian and Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday night in Michigan. The Falcons split the competition with 237.530 points. MHB beat the Falcons and the Bulldogs with 267.530 points and Adrian finished with 224.085 points. The Falcons are now 2-3 on the season.

The Falcons collected 31.70 points in the compulsory event on Tuesday. The Blue and White had 9.55 points in the pyramid heat and 9.60 points in the toss heat.

CUW had a season-high score of 24.35 points in the acro event. The bird had a season-high score of 7.50 points in the five-element heat with freshman Alani Rivera (Chicago, Ill.), freshman Jadyn Vail (Belvidere, Ill.), junior Haleigh Komprood (Janesville, Wis.) and sophomore Miranda Maciejewski (DeKalb, Ill.) and 8.20 points in the six-element heat with freshman Emily Ruka (Racine, Wis.), junior Amanda Owens (Stevens Point, Wis.), senior Amy Berth (Basehor, Kan.) and sophomore Ellen Marie Sanders (Joppa, Md.).

The Blue and White notched 27.95 points in the pyramid event. The birds tied the season-high score of 9.9 points in the open pyramid.

The Falcons beat both teams in all three heats in the toss event and finished with a season-high score of 27.6 points. CUW had a program-best score of 9.6 points in the 450 salto heat. Then landed 8.95 points in the synchronized heat and a season-best score of 9.05 points in the open heat.

Concordia clocked in with 45.1 points in the tumbling event. The quad pass collected a season-best score of 6.45 points with Emily Ruka, freshman Kate Kotula (Wyomissing, Pa.), sophomore Madisen Arendt (Waukesha, Wis.) and Miranda Maciejewski. The six-element pass had a high-water mark on the year at 8.1 points with Ellen Marie Sanders and 8.9 points in the open pass with junior Paityn Taormina (Geneva, Ill.).

CUW closed the night with 80.83 points in the team event

Concordia wraps up spring break action on Friday with a trip to South Dakota at Augustana.
