Women's Volleyball sweeps Marian

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin returned to the win column on Tuesday night with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-23) victory at Marian inside Sadoff Gymnasium. The Falcons are one league win shy of sharing the NACC regular-season title.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin improved its league record to 10-1 and is now one NACC victory shy of sharing the regular-season title with most likely Aurora and possibly Lakeland.
- The Falcons shined in the second set with a .261 team hitting percentage while limiting the Sabres to .060 in the second and .047 in the third frames. They dialed up 11 services aces and led by a match-best seven points in each of the first two sets.
- Sophomore Sophia Collins (Lake Mills, Wis.) led Concordia Wisconsin with 14 kills and hit .355 at the net, while sophomore Makenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.) and freshman Sierra Lee (Kenosha, Wis.) combined for 31 assists. Senior Arianna Richmond (South Elgin, Ill.) had three service aces and a team-high 18 digs.
- Sophomores McKenna Nigl (Richland Center, Wis.) and Olivia Richter (Naperville, Il) each had four block assists.
- Erika Horstman led Marian with 20 kills, while Amber Yahr tallied 26 assists, 14 digs and three service aces.
- The Falcons returned to form at the service line with 11 aces and now have double-digit aces in eight matches this season.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin hosts a quadrangular on Saturday inside the R. John Buuck Field House. UW-Stout, UW-Stevens Point and Carroll will all compete.
