Falcons soar on senior night against Benedictine

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's volleyball team remained unblemished in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with a 3-0 victory over Benedictine on Senior Night. The Falcons celebrated the seniors to a tune of a 25-22, 25-13, 25-21 victory.

Records: Concordia Wisconsin 16-6, 9-0 NACC; Benedictine 14-6, 4-3 NACC

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

- In the first set, the two teams exchanged the lead four different times. The Blue and White used five service aces to break away in the tight first set. Senior Kendall Stribling (Greenfield, Wis.) led the flock with three.

- With the second set tied at six, the Falcons blew open the set with an 8-1 run. CUW hit a blistering .394 in the set.

- Set three saw the Blue and White jump out to an early 14-6 lead. The Falcons closed the door with a 4-0 run to secure the match.

- Senior Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) led the Falcons with 10 kills to go along with 11 digs. Friday was her 11th double-double of the season.

- The Falcons featured a balanced attack on Friday, with eight different players recording a kill.

 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

- With the victory, CUW secured a spot in the NACC Tournament.

- Friday was the third-straight 3-0 victory for the Falcons over Benedictine played in Mequon. CUW has won six of the last seven matches against the Eagles.

 

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE

- Concordia Wisconsin hosts second-place Aurora in a battle for first place in the NACC on Saturday afternoon.
