Falcons fall to No. 10 Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin came out swinging and took the opening set against 10th-ranked Carthage, but the Lady Reds won the next three for a 3-1 victory on Friday evening inside the Tarble Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons came out swinging in the first set with a .211 attack percentage, compared to the Lady Reds .071, which resulted in a 25-19 victory and early momentum for the visitors.
- Carthage responded and hit over .300 in sets two and four to take back control and earn the victory. The hosts would eventually finish with a .220 attack percentage.
- Senior Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) paced Concordia Wisconsin with 17 kills, while Gabrielle Pavlik (Pewaukee, Wis.) had 11 kills and hit .417. Sophomore Makenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.) dished out 21 assists and the Falcons served six aces.
- Sophomore Madelyn Alton (Farwell, Minn.) had 14 digs.
- Carthage had three players with double-figure digs, including Haley Horner who had 15 and hit .364. Ellie LeCount recorded 43 assists and Shannon Kebisek had 21 digs.

- Concordia Wisconsin will compete against Rose-Hulman (12 pm) and Finlandia (2 pm) on Saturday to conclude the Carthage Invitational.
