Women's Volleyball wins two at Millikin Fall Invitational

DECATUR, Ill. -- Concordia Wisconsin played well on Saturday, winning a pair of victories at the Millikin Fall Invitational. The Falcons defeated 3-2 (18-25, 25-22, 25-17, 16-25, 15-7) before sweeping Lincoln College 3-0 (26-24, 25-12, 25-15).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons began the day with a difficult five-set victory over host Millikin after leading 2-1 in the match. They controlled the deciding fifth set by overcoming a 5-4 deficit with an 11-2 scoring run to earn the victory. During the scoring run, senior Arianna Richmond (South Elgin, Ill.) served a pair of aces.
- Overall, senior Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) led all players with 14 kills and hit .314, while serving four aces and digging 15 attack attempts for a double-double.
- Richmond had 10 digs, while senior Holly Anderson (Grant Park, Ill.) recorded 10 kills. Sophomore Makenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.) and junior Cristina Stinson (Aurora, Ill.) had 22 and 19 assists, respectively, while Stinson was dialed in on the service line with five aces.
- At the net, sophomore Olivia Richter (Naperville, Ill.) recorded four blocks, with two being solo, while senior Kendall Stribling (Greenfield, Wis.) and sophomore McKenna Nigl (Richland Center, Wis.) each had three blocks.
- Against Lincoln College, the Falcons played close with the Lynx but controlled the rest of play.
- In the victory, Anderson dialed up 12 kills on 19 attempts (.632). Vertz and Stinson combined for 34 assists, while Richmond and Mayer each had nine digs.
- Mayer and Richter each had four blocks.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin hosts Lakeland on Wednesday at 7 pm in the first NACC match of the season inside the R. John Buuck Field House. It is also Go for the Gold for Pediatric Cancer night.
