MEQUON, Wis. – Facing strong teams in the non-conference is something the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Soccer team does on a yearly basis and Saturday was another example as the Falcons took on Elmhurst at home. A first-half goal from the visiting Bluejays was the different Saturday, as the Falcons were edged 1-0 in foggy and rainy conditions.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The lone goal of the match was scored in the 15th minute on a header by Heather Hoffman. Bri Gerald sent a cross into the box and Hoffman was able to put the header in for the 1-0 lead.
- Both teams had chances in the opening half, as Elmhurst held a slight 6-5 edge in shots on goal. Tabitha Ortiz (Plainfield, Ill.) and Bryce Marchetti each tallied five saves in the opening 45 minutes.
- The second half saw fewer scoring opportunities, each team placing two shots on goal. Ortiz finished the contest with seven saves, as did Marchetti.
- The match was played in rainy and foggy conditions Saturday as inclement weather was in the area for much of the day.
- Anna Knueppel (Germantown, Wis.) paced the Falcons offense with four shots, three on goal.
