Women's Soccer shut out at UW-La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. – One day after playing a 110-minute double overtime battle against Dominican, the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Soccer team went on the road to take on UW-La Crosse. The Falcons were unable to slow down the Eagles, falling 4-0 in non-conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles struck three times in the first half, building a comfortable 3-0 edge. Alex Cording scored two of the Eagles goals, both of hers assisted by Megan Carroll. The other first-half score for UW-La Crosse came off the foot of Cassie Handrick.

- CUW had a few chances in the opening half, firing six shots, including three on goal. Kennedy Brault stopped all three of those shots on goal for UW-La Crosse to keep the score at 3-0. The Falcons Tabitha Ortiz (Plainfield, Ill.) made five saves in the opening 45 minutes.

- Hannah Anderson of UW-La Crosse made the score 4-0 in the 52nd minute, which would cap the scoring for the day.

- The Falcons were outshot, 29-15, on Sunday, including being outshot 15-7 on goal. Anna Knueppel (Germantown, Wis.) and Kayla Schlosser (Germantown, Wis.) each tallied a team-best four shots for the Falcons.

- The Falcons will return to conference play for their next match, visiting Lakeland Wednesday night. The Muskies and Falcons are set for a 7 p.m. start.
