Falcons Post a Record-Breaking Day at Marquette

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's track & field team posted a sensational day at the Marquette Invitational against teams from NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA. The Falcons finished fifth as a team with 78 points.

Senior Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) was the individual champion in the javelin throw at 48.08 meters and also posted a personal-best mark of 35.74 meters in the hammer throw in sixth place and was also sixth in the shot put at 12.48 meters.

Sophomore Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) shined on Saturday. He reached a school-record mark of 45.61 meters in the discus throw in second place. He was also third in the shot put at 12.80 meters and in the hammer throw at 47.15 meters.

Sophomore Bernie Van Den Heuvel (Valders, Wis.) posted a fantastic day at Marquette with a fourth-place time of 16.52 in the 110-meter hurdles, a career-best mark of 37.98 meters at javelin in fifth place and a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in sixth place.

Senior Paul Witto (Charleston, Ill.) posted his fastest collegiate time in the 400-meter hurdles in fourth place at 1:02.78.

Sophomore Nate Waech (West Bend, Wis.) placed fourth in the pole vault at 3.83 meters.

Junior Tim Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) ran a personal-best time of 15:15.26 in the 5000-meter run in fifth place.

Senior Konnor Kingsmore (Colorado Springs, Colo.) claimed two personal records on Saturday at 6.02 meters in the long jump in sixth place and at 35.42 meters in the javelin in seventh place.

Senior Dane Tischendorf (Antigo, Wis.) led the flock in the 100-meter dash in 10th place at 11.73. He was also the fastest Falcon in the 200-meter dash at 23.48. Both of his times were collegiate-best times. Freshman Nick Taylor (West Bend, Wis.) also had his best time of his career at Concordia in the 100-meter dash at 12.23 in 21st place.

Freshman Avery Horvath (Greenwood, Wis.) posted a personal-best time of 4:49.23 in the 1500-meter run and was 24th in the 800-meter run at 2:25.33.

The Falcons return to action on Friday at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Drake Alternative.
