Concordia Competes at the Beloit Relays

BELOIT, Wis. – On Saturday, April 15th, The Concordia Wisconsin men's track and field team traveled to compete in the Beloit Relays meet hosted by Beloit College. 

CUW finished with 28 points, claiming eighth place, while St. Norbert finished first with 147.5 points. 

Sophomore Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) continued his successful outdoor season on Saturday, placing third in the shot put with a throw of 13.61 meters. Moeller also placed third in the hammer throw, with his furthest throw recorded at 48.93 meters. Combined, Mitchell Moeller earned the Falcons 12 total team points. 

Senior Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) also placed inside the top 10 in shot put, as he threw a distance of 12.65 meters, good enough for ninth place. Day also placed seventh in the javelin, earning two points for the Falcons, with a distance of 44.69 meters.

In the discus, Mitchell Moeller placed second, with a distance of 45.07 meters, while Theodore Ryder (Denver, Colo.) finished in ninth with a throw that recorded a distance of 35.50 meters. As a result of discus, the blue and white added eight more points. 

Meanwhile, on the track, sophomore Bernie Van Den Heuvel (Valders, Wis.) took fifth place in the 110-meter hurdles, recording a time of 16.46 seconds, contributing four points to CUW's total. Van Den Heuvel also added two points in the 400-meter hurdles, with a time of 1:05.28 seconds. 

Senior Dane Tischendorf (Antigo, Wis.) led the Falcons in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.70 seconds, as well as the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.35 seconds. Junior Colin Rerecich (Henderson, Nev.) led the Falcons in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.38 seconds, while Avery Horvath (Greenwood, Wis.) led CUW in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:23.41.

CUW will resume action next Saturday, April 22nd, at the Marquette Invitational.
