CUW Closes Spring Break with a Win
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The CUW men's tennis team closed spring break play with an 8-1 victory over Western New England. The Bison of Nichols took the first match of the day to send CUW to 3-7 on the year.
Senior Tim Peters (Slinger, Wis.) and freshman Peter Naylor (Lockport, Ill.) picked up an 8-7 (7-1) victory at No. 2 doubles to start the day.
Senior Logan Snyder (Franklin, Ind.) secured a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Giacomo Ghitti at No. 1 singles.
Peter Naylor knocked down Enrico Menegon at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (3) victory.
The Falcons closed the day by taking two points in doubles play.
The duo of Peters and Naylor struck again at No. 2 doubles with an 8-1 victory.
Junior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) and freshman Izak Roscher (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) clinched an 8-3 victory on court three.
Logan Snyder sank Nick Bayer at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 7-5.
Tim Peters pounced on Max Gordan with a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles.
Freshman Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) shot down Sebastian Smreczak at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
Joshua Klement canned Michael Robichaud at No. 4 singles at 6-0, 6-2.
Peter Naylor notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles against Brandon Greger.
Izak Roscher ran over Ryan Zable at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-4.
The Falcons return to action on March 26 when they open NACC play at Concordia Chicago. They will also travel to North Central.
