Men’s Tennis controls NACC postseason awards

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Nolan Rademacher was named NACC Freshman of the Year, Steve Anschutz earned NACC Coach of the Year and Concordia Wisconsin had five singles players and all three doubles pairings on the All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference postseason teams.

Rademacher (Monument, Colo.) was named NACC Freshman of the Year after going 5-1 in singles and 8-0 during doubles play in league play. The rookie accumulated a 12-11 record in singles and a 15-10 record during doubles. He had three three-match winning streaks in singles and is 8-1 in doubles with partner Brad Guendel.

Steve Anschutz helped guide the Falcons to their second-consecutive NACC regular season title. This season they defeated opponents by a combined scored of 68-4 and shutout five conference foes. It is his first NACC Coach of the Year honor with the men's tennis program and has been named NACC COY three-consecutive years with the women's tennis program.

Gabe Binversie (Plymouth, Wis.) was named to All-NACC Singles after recording a perfect 8-0 record during league play, including a 6-0 record at No. 1 singles. He is 14-11 overall in singles this season and is 9-1 over his last 10 matches. The sophomore has put together winning streaks of four and five matches in a row over the last month.

Brad Guendel (Greendale, Wis.) earned All-NACC Singles honors after putting together an 8-0 singles record in league play, including a 6-0 record at the No. 2 position. The senior is 15-7 overall in singles action and is 10-1 since March 15.

Peter Kloda (Morton Grove, Ill.) achieved All-NACC Singles recognition after posting an 8-0 record in league play, with a 6-0 record coming at No. 5 singles. The junior is 13-9 during singles action this season and is on a nine-match winning streak.

Nathan Raskin (Shorewood, Wis.) added All-NACC Singles honors to his résumé after recording a 6-2 record in singles, with a 5-1 record at the No. 4 position. The sophomore is 12-11 overall during singles play this season and is 7-3 over his last 10 matches.

The doubles pairing of Binversie and freshman Cole Werning (Watertown, Wis.) added All-NACC Doubles honors to their credit putting together a 7-0 record in NACC play, with six of those wins coming at No. 3 doubles. They gave up just two games in five of the seven league matches they played together.

Guendel and Rademacher added All-NACC Doubles accolades to their list of achievements. The pairing went 8-0 in conference play at the No. 1 position and had five 8-0 shutout victories. They were the only pairing to play together and win all eight conference matches.

Kloda and Raskin were tagged with All-NACC Doubles honors after accumulating a 7-0 record in league play at the No. 2 position. The duo has played together 19 times this season, putting together a 13-6 record. They are also 8-2 over their last 10 matches played.

The Falcons won the NACC regular season title with an 8-0 record to earn the top seed for the NACC Tournament. They play against Dominican in a NACC Tournament semifinal match on Sunday at 10:30 am.
