DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The CUW men's basketball team wrapped up their 2022 Daytona Beach Shootout matchups on Thursday evening with a contest against the Muskies of Muskingum.

The Falcons exhibited dominance with a 47-23 first half which saw senior Freeman Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.) record 17 points.  He added two rebounds and an assist in the half.

Senior Matt LeVene (Manitowoc, Wis.) was close behind with 13 points.

The Blue and White were 7-11 (64%) from beyond the arc in the first half.  Both LeVene and Jackson were 3-4.

Jackson splashed a three-pointer in the first Falcon trip down the floor in the second half to improve their lead to 50-23.

The Muskies won the second half with a score of 43-40 but it was not enough and the Blue and White finished with a final score of 87-66.

Jackson led the matchup with 25 total points.  LeVene and senior Gabe Pruss (North Fond Du Lac, Wis.) recorded 15 points.

"We have had a stretch of really tough losses" said head coach Shawn Cassidy.  "I am proud of the way we keep responding as evident by the quick start tonight.  We are all ready to enjoy Christmas and get back to work for the 2nd half of the season."

The flock flies home and will take a break until their 2023-opening matchup with the Concordia Chicago Cougars on January 7.
