Falcons Rope in Rockford

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons came out on top in a high-scoring affair on Saturday afternoon in a tight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference battle. The Falcons won 90-79 on Saturday to improve to 2-4 and to 1-3 in the NACC.

There were a combined 102 points scored in the first half on Saturday. The Regents sank nine three-point baskets on 19 attempts.

The first half saw 11 lead changes in the first 20 minutes.

The Falcons feasted in the paint with 38 points in the first half.

Senior Gabe Pruss (North Fond Du Lac, Wis.) led the Concordia attack in the first half with 16 points, four more than senior Freeman Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.).

After trailing 52-20 at halftime, a three-point basket from senior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) gave the Falcons the lead at 57-54 and the birds never looked back.

A 12-3 run pushed the lead to 11 for the Falcons with 4:48 left in the game. CUW pushed the lead to 11 on two more occasions including the final tally of 90-79 after a layup from junior Sam Meerstein (Green Bay, Wis.).

Three Falcons scored 20 or more points on Saturday.

Jared Jurss led all players with 21 points, he also led CUW with six assists.

Gabe Pruss and Freeman Jackson both had 20 points.

One of the NACC's best scorers in Kevin Diemer was held to only two points. His previous season low was 14 points.

CUW scored 58 points in the paint.

The Falcons look to stay hot on Tuesday against MSOE.
