Falcons advance to NACC Tournament semifinals

MEQUON, Wis. – Sometimes it doesn't matter who is shooting the ball for Concordia Wisconsin because the plethora of offensive weapons they have makes it difficult on the opposition, which was the case on Wednesday night. The Falcons had six players in double-figures and outran Dominican in a 94-67 victory to advance to the NACC Tournament semifinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons drained nine 3-pointers and blitzed the Stars with a 39-15 scoring run over the final 11 minutes and 43 seconds of the opening half to lead 54-27 at the intermission. At the break the hosts already had three players in double-digits.
- Dominican inched its way back to a 14-point deficit with 8:53 left in the contest, but Concordia Wisconsin wanted nothing to do with a close game and regrouped with a 16-3 scoring run over the next four-plus minutes.
- The lead eventually peaked at 29 points after a Noah Gosse (sophomore, Green Bay, Wis.) fast break layup with just over two minutes before the final horn. Concordia Wisconsin led for over 39 minutes in the victory.
- Sophomore Andrew Fratzke (Winona, Minn.) tallied 18 points and five rebounds, while senior Montrell Hobbs (Milwaukee, Wis.) had a season-high 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting off the bench.
- Sophomore Josh Hau (Slinger, Wis.) accumulated 13 points and sophomore Jake Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) had an impressive game with 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
- Senior Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) was outstanding with 16 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and two steals in 39 minutes of action.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Kittel had several chances near the end of the game to set the program's all-time scoring record and is now three points shy of setting the mark. He has 1,488 points.
- Kittel's 10 assists are tied for the eighth most in a game in program history. He has dished out 10 or more assists over the past month.
- Fratzke tied a career-high with nine field goals made.
- The Gosse brothers (Noah, Jared) combined for five assists, while Noah ended with eight points and three rebounds.
- The Falcons outrebounded the Stars 39-29, but forced just 10 turnovers, which the visitors converted into 19 points. They also had a 26-12 lead in bench production.
- Concordia Wisconsin had 25 assists – tied for seventh most in a game in program history – on 35 field goals made.

THE OPPOSITION
- Tim Robertson led all scorers with 21 points, to go along with eight rebounds. Josh Mayberry added 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.
