Senior Kevin Koch (Edgar, WI) qualified to the NCAA National Championships at 141 lbs. to lead the Falcons in 2005-06. Koch finished 1-2 at the nationals, winning his first bout over Gene Kobliansky (NYU) 8-2.

Koch had an impressive Great Lakes Regional to qualify, with wins over returning All-American David Silva of Elmhurst, 4-1TB, and a big 2-1 win in the true-second place match over Augustana’s Ryan McMurray to give himself a wild-card spot.

Koch placed 3rd at the Pete Willson Invite at Wheaton, including a win over UW-Parkside’s Craig Becker for third. Koch was also 2nd at the Florida Citrus, 4th at the Concordia Open, and a Conference Champion. Koch finished his career win 118 wins, #2 on the career win list.


Joe Massman (Taylor, WI) finished 5th at 149 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional for a solid freshman campaign. Massman won his first conference title and was 6th at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invite to help CUW place 12th out of 28 schools.


Adam Schultz (Harvard, IL) and Jeff Luxner (Racine Case HS, WI) each won conference titles at their respective weights to help CUW win their 7th team title.


The conference title went down to the last match of the day, as CUW’s 285 lbs. Hunter Six (Hinsdale, IL) scored a 3rd-period pin to push the Falcons over Lakeland for the team title by one point, 102.5-101.5. Besides winning the conference team title, Koch was voted LMC Wrestler of the Year, Massman was voted LMC Rookie of the Year, and Coach Corner was voted LMC Coach of the Year.
