Sophomore Ben Schwoerer (New Holstein, WI) led the Falcons throughout the 1999-2000 season at 184 lbs. Schwoerer led the team in wins (28), takedowns (52), near falls (29), and pins (7). Schwoerer and BJ Bockhop (Belmont, WI) opened the season with 4th place finishes at the Concordia Open in November.


The team traveled to the prestigious Florida College Duals in Orlando and finished 2-4. On the second day of the event, the Falcons posted wins over Williams College MA and Gettysburg College PA. Freshman Matt Prelwitz (Ripon, WI) got a pin at 197 to push the Falcons past Gettysburg 27-24. Ben Schwoerer’s 28 wins set a CUW season record, breaking the mark set by Jim Stewart (24) in 1997.

At the end of the season, sophomore Jon Egen (Shawano, WI) was selected to the NWCA Division III Scholar All-American Team at the national championships in Ada, OH.
