Concordia Open
Nov 20, 1993 In the inaugural CUW Open, eight teams participated and the Falcons had placers: Chez Misko (4th at 118), Scott Wletschak (4th at 142), Brian King (2nd at 150), Harry Rosa (2nd at 158), and Jay Hardy (4th at 285).

 

WI Collegiate Open at UW-Parkside Dec. 4 The Falcons did not get any placers, but were led by Brian King (2-2 at 150 lbs.) and Jamison Hardy (2-2 at HWT).

 Carthage Invite Jan 8 The Falcons were 8th out of 10 teams, led by a 3rd place finish by Jamison Hardy at 285 lbs. Hardy pinned Augsburg (MN) Jeff Schroeder in 1:04 in the 3rd-place match. Team Scores: Augsburg 100.5, Olivet (MI) 57.25, UW-Whitewater 54.5, Carroll College 30, Carthage College 22.5, UW-Parkside 17.5, Ripon College & Lakeland 12, Concordia College WI 7.5, Lake County (IL) 4, Waubonsee (IL) 0.5.
 

Maranatha Invite
Jan 15 The Falcons were led by Chris Wedell who placed 5th at 142 lbs. Wedell pinned Carroll’s Ben Tomes in 4:27 for 5th. Ryan Rosenow was 6th at 167 for the Falcons. Hardy was 2-2 at 285 but did not place.

 

WI Private College Tournament Jan. 22 CUW was 6th out of 10 teams, with Chris Wedell winning the title at 142 lbs. After a bye, Wedell pinned Northwestern’s Kevin Walker in 5:02 to advance to the finals. Wedell then defeated Lakeland’s Darryl Moore, 6-2, for his first collegiate tournament title. Chez Misko was 2nd at 126 and Ryan Rosenow placed 3rd at 167. Team Scores: Carroll 68.25, Lawrence 59, Carthage 44.75, Lakeland 43.75, Northwestern 34, Concordia 33.5, Maranatha Baptist 20.5, MSOE 17, Ripon 13.5, Northland Baptist 2.

 

Lake Michigan Conference Meet in a tightly contested meet, Maranatha won the first LMC title with 61.5 pts., with the Falcons placing 4th. LMC Champions for CUW included Chez Misko (126) and Chris Wedell (142). Misko won a 12-9 decision over Lakeland’s Shawn Haven in the finals, and Wedell won by injury default over Lakeland’s Darryl Moore. Ryan Rosenow (167) and Jamison Hardy (285) both finished 2nd in their weights. LMC Team Scores: Maranatha Baptist 61.5, Lakeland 45.75, Northwestern 44.5, Concordia 44, Pillsburg MN 34, MSOE 25.5.

 

NAIA National Championships March 11-12 Butte, MT CUW national qualifiers included Chez Misko (126), Chris Wedell (142), and Jay Hardy. All went 0-2 at the championships, and the top five teams at the NAIA’s were Southern Oregon 90.5, Univ of Mary 82.5, Western Montana 82, Lindenwood MO 66.75, and Central Washington 50.5.
