Finlandia defeats CUW men’s hockey 3-1
Finlandia
CUW (0-7-0) is still in search of their first 2010 win while
Finlandia (1-4-0) broke into the victory column for the first time
this season with a 3-1 conquest of the Falcons Friday night.
Both teams had 31 shots but the host Lions scored once in each of
the first two periods and then held off Concordia after Ryan
Roeming's goal cut the CUW deficit to 2-1 at 6:30 of the third
session. An empty net goal by the hosts in the final minute ended
the suspense.
Tony Hrkac's team was outshot 16-3 in the opening period but
actually dominated possession over the final two frames.
