CUW coach Tony Hrkac's pro hockey season finally comes to a close

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - The host Manitoba Moose advanced to the Calder Cup finals by defeating Tony Hrkac's and the Houston Aeros 3-1 in game six of their third round series.Hrkac had kept the Aeros alive in this series with an overtime game -winning score two nights earlier.

Earlier, Hrkac and his much younger Houston teammates had defeated Peoria 4 game to 3 in round one of the playoffs and then surprised Milwaukee 4 games to 3 in round two. Hrkac (42) had not played professional hockey in four years, but wound up third in playoff scoring for the Aeros with 14 points while leading the team in assists during their exciting playoff run.
