CUW to Offer an Additional Graduation Ceremony

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin has announced that the school will offer a graduation ceremony for student-athletes that would have issues attending due to scheduling conflicts.

Due to a change in the academic calendar at Concordia University Wisconsin, more student-athletes are experiencing more conflicts with postseason and regular-season play. The academic office addressed this with a small celebratory event with a miniature graduation ceremony.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity for our graduating student-athletes and their families," said Director of Athletics Dr. Rob Barnhill. "For many, undergraduate graduation is the penultimate academic experience, and it is unfortunate that we sometimes have to ask these families to make a choice between playing and participating in the ceremony. This opportunity allows those that wish to participate an opportunity to have some of the ceremonial experience while preserving the opportunity to be with their team in competition.'

The ceremony will take place on Friday, May 3 at 8:00 a.m. inside of the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse.

Teammates, coaches and other guests are welcome to attend.
