Women's Tennis Reels in Lakeland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Falcons are closer to a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) title on Saturday with a 9-0 victory at Lakeland. The victory sends CUW to 7-2 on the year and 7-0 in the NACC.

At No. 1 doubles, senior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and junior Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) cruised to an 8-0 victory.

Senior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) also brought out the brooms on court two with an 8-0 victory.

Sophomore Cheyanne Phillips (Morris, Ill.) and sophomore Mya Werning (Watertown, Wis.) picked up an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Ricki Budewitz sank Olivia Heling at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

Ashley Samuta bashed Mary Blossom at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Mallory Moen wrapped up Kassidee Webb at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1.

At No. 4 singles, Cheyanne Phillips boxed up Baylee Babcock, 6-0, 6-2.

Mia Andrae clipped Sadie Conway at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-3.

Sophomore Peyton Morgan (Arlington Heights, Ill.) defeated Clare Kelnhofer, at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-2.

The Falcons can clinch a share of the NACC title on Sunday at Marian.
