Solberg named POY, Anschutz win COY NACC Women's Tennis honors

Mequon, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's undefeated NACC regular season has resulted in a plethora of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference postseason awards. The Falcons add to an already impressive year after winning the conference regular season title for the third-consecutive year. Ashley Solberg was named the NACC Player of the Year and head coach Steve Anschutz was also named the NACC Coach of the Year for the second season in a row.

Junior Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) was named NACC Player of the Year, after finishing with a 9-0 conference singles record and a 7-1 doubles record. During league play she outscored opponents 109-31 in singles play and hasn't lost a conference singles match in over year dating back to September 17th of last season. Solberg was also named to the All-NACC Singles for the third time.

Anschutz coached the Falcons to their third-straight outright NACC regular season title with an undefeated 9-0 record. Concordia Wisconsin has outscored conference opponents 76-5 and has only allowed seven total points overall. Anschutz has also guided the Falcons on a 28-match winning streak against NACC foes over the past three years.

Senior Elizabeth Carroll (Hartford, Wis.) was given All-NACC Singles honors for the second time in her career after posting an undefeated 9-0 singles record. Carroll mostly played from the third position and consistently provided great scores, by only giving up three or more sets in only one match this season.

Junior Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) was tabbed with All-NACC Singles honors by recording a 9-0 singles record. Kelly played mainly from the four position this season and lost just games or fewer in seven or her nine singles matches.

Senior Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) was named to the All-NACC Singles list for the fourth time in her career, as she finished with a 4-2 record and had three matches where she held her counterpart to three or fewer games won. Tresedder played the 2nd position for the Falcons this fall.  

In addition, two doubles pairings were named All-NACC.

The duo of Kelly and Solberg were named to All-NACC Doubles list, as the team posted an 7-1 NACC record and shutout their opponents in two matches with a score of 8-0. The pair also held opposing duos to two or fewer points in seven matches.

Carroll and Tresedder were also named to the All-NACC Doubles team by getting through conference play with an undefeated record of 7-0. The duo gave up only three or more points three times. Carroll and Tresedder mostly played out of the second position for the Falcons during conference play.
