Falcons Begin Day One of Upper Midwest Regional

The Concordia Wisconsin wrestling team participated in the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional in Stevens Point on Friday, kicking off the two-day postseason tournament.

Junior Devin Gore (Plymouth, Wis.) picked up a win for the Falcons at 125 pounds, notching a tech fall in his third match of the day to collect 2.5 team points.

Senior Emilio Acosta (El Paso, Texas) won his opening bout of the afternoon at 141 pounds, winning by fall with just four seconds remaining on the clock.

Freshman Cole Ramos (Kenosha, Wis.) won two of his three matches at 149 pounds, winning by decision and major decision to earn 6.5 team points.

Senior Carson Cook (Las Vegas, Nev.) also emerged victorious in two of three bouts, picking up a fall 26 seconds into his opening match while also notching an 11-2 major decision.

Junior Jeremy Pullen (Joliet, Ill.) won a pair of matches in the action, taking two bouts by technical fall.

At 184 pounds, senior Jonathan Pullen (Joliet, Ill.) won matches by decision and technical fall.

Senior Peyton Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.) won by fall and major decision at 197 pounds, picking up 8.5 team points.

Ramos, Cook, Jonathan Pullen, Jeremy Pullen, and Smith will wrestle on Saturday to place at the tournament.
