Puch, Women's Golf wins Marian Invitational

FOND dU LAC, Wis. – After three weeks since last competing, Nina Puch and Concordia University Wisconsin won the Marian University Invitational during cold, rainy and blustery conditions at Whispering Springs Golf Course.

Puch (junior, Des Plaines, Ill.) won medalist honors after winning the 27-hole event with a 136 total. She carded an 89 during the first 18 holes on Friday and shot a 47 on Saturday to win by 14 strokes. The Falcons blew by the competition with a 597 team score to win by 82 strokes.

Junior Lexi Westphal (Brownsville, Wis.) fired a 150 total to tie for second place, while sophomore Megan Reddersdorf (Marengo, Ill.) had a 154 total to take fourth place. Freshman Haley Olkiewicz (Oshkosh, Wis.) took fifth place after shooting a 157 total. Sophomore Bridget Slater (Roseau, Minn.) also golfed 18 holes on Friday and ended with a 113.

Host Marian took second with a 391 team total and Lakeland College was third with a 404 team total.
