Puch leads Women's Golf at Battle at Blackthorn

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Nina Puch improved eight strokes during the second round to lead Concordia University Wisconsin at the Battle at Blackthorn, hosted by Bethel College, at Blackthorn Golf Club.

Puch improved 10 spot on the leaderboard and eight shots on Saturday to tie for 23rd place. The Falcons took eight place after shooting a 768 (383-385), as they were on the only NCAA Division III team amongst a tournament filed with NAIA programs.

Madonna University won the team plaque by 19 strokes with a 639 total (314-325), while Chelsea Collura (Madonna University) and Taylor Thompson (Saint Xavier University) tied for individual medalist honors with a 149 total.

Puch carded a 178 total (93-85), while sophomore Megan Reddersdorf (Marengo, Ill.) tied for 38th with a 193 total (92-101). Freshman Madeline Poll (Alto, Mich.) ended with a 198 total (98-100) which was good for 41st. Freshman Haley Olkiewicz (Oshkosh, Wis.) shot a 199 total (100-99) to take 42nd and sophomore Bridget Slater (Roseau, Minn.) carded a 204 total (100-104) to take 44th place.

CUW returns to the course on Thursday for a dual meet with Lake Forest College at Foss Park Golf Course.
