Montaba Takes First at Marian University Spring Invite

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The CUW women's golf team took third place at the Marian University Spring Invite with 379 total strikes on Sunday.

Soaring in the meet for the Falcons was junior Elizabeth Montaba (Elkhart Lake, Wis.), who took first overall, shooting an 83, a single stroke lower than Marian's Yinan Lu.

Behind Montaba, was senior Rebecca Curley (Winthrop Harbor, Ill.), who locked up 12th place with a final score of 96.

Meanwhile, sophomore Shauna Grahn (New Berlin, Wis.) finished her day with 98 strokes, suitable for a top-15 finish. She tied for 13th overall with UW-Oshkosh's Hylie Herrin.

Finishing in fourth for the Blue and White was freshman Mady Doering (Appleton, Wis.). Doering finished with 102 strokes and took 17th overall.

Finally, junior Joy Craig (Lake Orion, Mich) recorded 133 strokes and rounded out the Falcons' lineup.

The CUW women's golf squad will return to the links on Friday, April 26, at the Viking Invitational hosted by Augustana, starting at noon.
