Trailing by 12 points (58-46) with seven minutes to play, the Falcons (18-8) finally forged a 60-60 tie at the :35 mark on Kendall Kerns' layup, and then won when Tiffany Hendrickson dropped in a 15 footer as the horn sounded.

It was an uphill climb all night for Concordia against the much-improved Regents (13-13) who led 35-31 at the break and never trailed in the second half until the final basket.

"The crowd energized us down the stretch. They were so loud and we fed off that," said Coach Stacey Brunner-Jones. "We did not quit."

Katie Luethe led CUW with 18 points while Kerns and Becky Gifford added 13 each. Ten of Gifford's markers came down the stretch as Concordia made up the large deficit.

Trailing 60-51, rejuvernated Concordia scored the game's final 11 points. The Falcons travel to Dominican on Thursday for a NAC semi-final matchup against the (20-6) Stars.

Brittney Curry had 14 and Megan Lawler added 13 for a stunned Rockford squad.

Rockofrd shot 45% compared to CUW's 38% but the Falcons hit 7-8 free throws compared to 7-12 for the Regents who missed 4 shots and were 0-3 from the free throw line over the final 5 minutes.
