Seven from Softball earn NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete recognition

LOUISVILLE – The Concordia University Wisconsin Softball team had seven players earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2015 season, the organization announced Monday.

To earn All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must post a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Across all levels of softball across the country, 5,493 players received the honor, including 1,018 from the Division III ranks.

The Falcons had seven players recognized, which was over a third of their roster. The players honored from CUW were freshmen Deidra Weinberger (Mayville, Wis.), Kaitlin Radue (Valders, Wis.), Rebecca Knauss (Parma, Ohio) and Emily Brekke (Waterford, Wis.), sophomores Carly Sobrilsky (Brookfield, Wis.) and Nicole Bublitz (Brown Deer, Wis.) and junior Melissa Perkins (Park Forest, Ill.).

As a team the Falcons finished last season with a 28-15 overall record, which included reaching the NACC Championship game at the conference tournament in May.
