Men’s Tennis ready for NACC Tournament this Sunday

MEQUON, Wis. – The Men's Tennis team will compete in the NACC Tournament on Sunday in Madison, Wisconsin. The Falcons are the No. 2 seed in the tournament and are in the semifinals along with Illinois Tech, MSOE, and Edgewood. The Scarlet Hawks are the No. 1 seed, the Raiders the No. 3, and the Eagles the No. 4 seed in the tournament.

No. 2 Concordia Wisconsin (15-7, 8-1 NACC) will start the day at 9am with a match against No. 3 MSOE (11-9, 7-2 NACC) in the semifinals. The Falcons have played the Raiders 20 times in program history and hold a 15-5 record in the series. CUW has won the last three matches with MSOE, defeating them 8-1 this season, 7-2 last season, and 5-0 in the 2017 NACC Tournament Championship Match.

While the Falcons take on the Raiders, No. 1 Illinois Tech (16-9, 9-0 NACC) will be competing with No. 4 Edgewood (8-13, 6-3 NACC) in the other semifinal round. The winner of that match will compete with the winner between CUW and MSOE in the Championship Match starting at approximately 1pm. The Falcons have only played the Scarlet Hawks once in program history as they are new to the NACC this season, falling 6-3 on April 6th. Against the Eagles, the Falcons have played 13 matches and hold a 9-4 record in the series while having won the last four matches.

Five athletes on the Falcons roster earned All-NACC honors this season, tying CUW with IIT for the most in the conference this season.

-Gabe Binversie (Plymouth, Wis.) earned All-NACC Singles with a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.
-Christian Docter (Madison, Wis.) was awarded All-NACC Singles, going 6-1 in the conference.
-Nolan Rademacher (Monument, Colo.) was named to All-NACC Singles after recording a 4-1 conference record.
-Logan Snyder (Franklin, Ind.) rounded out the All-NACC Singles award winners with a 5-1 record in the conference.
-Nathan Raskin (Shorewood, Wis.) teamed with Rademacher to earn All-NACC Doubles honors.
-The team of Docter and Snyder also was awarded All-NACC Doubles.

Though they were not named All-NACC, the doubles team of Binversie and Cole Werning (Watertown, Wis.) led the Falcons with a 12-4 overall record while going 6-1 in the conference. The team was 7-2 in No. 2 doubles play and 5-2 at No. 3.

The NACC Tournament will be played at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, where the Falcons will serve as hosts of the event. Check out the CUWFalcons social media pages for updates on the day's action on Sunday.
