Men’s Soccer Announces Incoming Recruiting Class

MEQUON, Wis. – CUW head coach John Saleska has announced the incoming recruiting class for the upcoming 2021 season.

Sam Butterfield

Butterfield was a four-year varsity starter and senior captain at Lutheran High School South in St. Louis He was a two-time district champion and All-Metro League selection. He also helped claim the STL Sporting Presidents Cup and a Missouri State Cup second-place finish. He was also a two-year varsity basketball starter and a four-year Honor Roll student.

Alexis Diaz

Diaz was named a three-year captain of FC Waukegan and was a starter for two years with FC1974 and FC Lake Country. Diaz helped his team win a conference title in 2019. He was also a three-time Student-Athlete Academic Award winner and was inaugurated into the National Honor Society during his junior year.

Joel Roth

Roth was a four-year varsity starter with Michigan Lutheran High School. He was the captain of the team during his junior and senior years. Roth was named the Team MVP twice and also claimed the  Best Goal Award. He also claimed BCS All-Conference Team honors for three years, All-District Team for two years,  was named a BCS Scholar-Athlete and he helped his team win the district title during his senior season.

Jason Segovia

Segovia graduated from Silverado High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a three-year starter for his varsity team. Segovia played for Albion SC LV 2003 DP and played as a left-winger/forward for three years. He was accepted to the Football Academy of Madrid and Villareal Youth Academy. Segovia was a part of a Mayor's Cup finalist team in 2020, a Spring Cup Championship team in 2019, a Winter Cup championship team in 2019 and a United Nations League champion team in 2019. He was also the State Cup top goalscorer 2020. While maintaining a job, he also boasted a 3.7 grade-point average.

Andrew Semenak

At Michigan Lutheran High School, Semenak played on the varsity team for three years and was the starting center back for two seasons, including the 2020 season, where they claimed the district title. In 2020 he was also named to the All-District Team, the All-Conference Honorable Mention and the ML Defensive Player of the Year. Semenak was a three-sport athlete and was named to the Academic High Honor Roll all four years.

Jackson Young

Young was a three-year varsity starter at Lakeview High School, where his teams reached the 2020 district finals and the 2019 district semifinals. He won the 2018 Coach's Choice Award and the 2019 Player of the Year Award. Young was also the starting Keeper with Eastside FC State Premiere Team that competed in the 2016, 2017 and 2019 Michigan State Cup and won the 2019 Crusader Cup and 2019 SFP Spring Shootout. He has trained with the Elite Keeper Academy for six years.
