Men's Basketball gets defensive in second half

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Chicago drained nine 3-pointers in the first half, but Concordia Wisconsin wasn't having it in the second half and got defensive, holding the visitors to 26 points. The Falcons shot 50 percent during the game and pulled away late for n 83-67 NACC victory on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a 90 minute delay because of mechanical bus issues by Concordia Chicago, the Cougars came out red-hot in the opening half with nine 3-pointers and led by two points, 41-39, at the intermission. Raushaun Amos and Brent Hatten drained four and three long balls, respectively, to keep the Cougars in the game.
- Concordia Wisconsin had a productive halftime talk and corrected some Xs and Os to change the game plan. What resulted was them holding the visitors to 3-of-15 from downtown and on the offensive end the Falcons shot over 50 percent and had two players in double-figures (Jordan Johnson, Brandon Keller).
- The Falcons dominated the paint with 50 points and Johnson (junior, Cedarburg, Wis.) led all players with a career-high-tying 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting, to go along with seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal. Sophomore Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) recorded his second career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Joey Zietlow (Oak Creek, Wis.) tallied 15 points. Sophomore Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) surpassed the 200 career assist marks with eight helpers to just one turnover.
- Concordia Chicago was led by Brent Hatten who had 21 points (five 3-pointers), while Raushaun Amos had 17 points (five 3-pointers).
