Falcons separate from Sabres early in easy victory

FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin put its foot on the gas pedal in the first half and cruised past Marian with a 16-0 scoring run en route to an 81-57 NACC victory on Saturday afternoon inside Sadoff Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was close for the first seven minutes and 18 seconds and then it wasn't, as Concordia Wisconsin went on a 16-0 scoring run and eventually a 27-12 scoring run to close out the half and engage cruise control. They led 40-22 at the intermission behind 51.5 percent shooting and a defense that limited Marian to just 27.8 percent from the field.
- The scoring difference in the second half was closer (41-35), but the Falcons continued to torch the nets by making 55.2 percent of their attempts.
- The victory is the third in a row for Concordia Wisconsin and ended with 44 points in the paint and received 49 points from the bench. They assisted 25 times on 33 field goals and scored 18 points on fastbreak opportunities.
- Junior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) and freshman Gabe Pruss (North Fond du Lac, Wis.) each scored a game-high 13 points, with Pruss going 5-for-5 from the field and Johnson added six assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks.. Sophomore Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) had nine points and seven assists, while senior Isaiah Tenette (Sacramento, Calif.) added five assists.
- Marian was led by Justin Wilson and Matt Shaw who each had nine points.
