Men’s Basketball travels to Lakeland for NACC Tournament game
MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin travels north to take on Lakeland in the first round of the NACC Tournament on Tuesday night at 7 pm. The Falcons are the fifth seed, while the Muskies are the fourth seed.
Concordia Wisconsin finished the regular season with a 14-11 overall record and a 12-8 record in NACC play, while Lakeland was 16-9 overall and 12-8 in conference play. To determine the seeding between the two teams it began with the head-to-head matchup and both teams won a game. It then went to their records against top-seeded Aurora (both teams lost twice) before the deciding factor was the Muskies win over second-seeded Benedictine on January 20.

The Falcons ended the regular season with three consecutive victories to gain momentum heading into the postseason. They won a 75-68 road game at Dominican, followed an 89-88 victory over Rockford at home after Jordan Johnson nailed a step-back game-winning 20-footer with 1.3 seconds to play. The latest win was a 99-76 decision at Concordia Chicago last Saturday.
Junior Josh Hau (Slinger, Wis.) leads Concordia Wisconsin all season with a 17.0 points per game average, while freshman Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) is second at 14.3 points per game. Junior Jake Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) is the team-leader at 3.4 assists per game, to go along with 10.6 points. Junior Andrew Fratzke (Winona, Minn.) hauls in a team-best 6.8 rebounds and rejects 1.5 blocks, while scoring 10.0 points per game.
Lakeland has won its last two games – an 85-78 win over Marian and an 88-70 victory at Finlandia last Saturday. Since January 23, the Muskies have won three straight, lost back-to-back game and ended the regular season with two wins in a row.
Carlos Campos leads five players in double-figures at 15.9 points per game, while Pat McDonald is scoring 15.0 per contest at 50.3 percent. Shakur Jinad is grabbing a team-high 6.9 rebounds, to go along with 13.6 points per game.
