Walker inducted into AFA Semi-Pro Hall of Fame

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Concordia Wisconsin Defensive Coordinator Adam Walker was inducted into the American Football Association Semi-Pro Hall of Fame on Thursday night. The long-time coach played eight years of semi-pro football and had a brief stint in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings.

"I was completely honored," Walker stated when referring to when he found out about his induction notice. "I had a great career, but that's a whole other level to be in the AFA Semi-Pro Hall of Fame."

He played for the Racine Raiders from 1986-91 and also with the Milwaukee Express/Flame in 1992-93. The option quarterback and running back during his playing days earned all-league honors seven times and was the league MVP once.

Walker played collegiately at Carthage College and was the team MVP as a quarterback, and was later inducted into the Carthage Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999. Later in his playing career he donned a Minnesota Vikings uniform for two games during the strike shortened 1987 season.

He was the head football coach at both North High School and Vincent High School in Milwaukee, spending four years at each school. Walker then joined the Carthage College coaching staff as a defensive backs coach and after three year took a position at CUW as the head track & field coach and running backs coach on the football team.

During his time with the Falcons as the Defensive Coordinator, his side of the balls has continually been one of the best in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Walker's 2011 defensive squad led the nation in pass defense, allowing just 122.6 yards per game, and in 2012 they gave up just 18.7 points per game.
