Elmhurst Edges Men's Lacrosse

ELMHURST, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's lacrosse team faced one of its toughest challenges of the 2025 season on Wednesday evening at Elmhurst. The Bluejays improved to 3-0 with the 16-6 victory.

The Bluejays started the scoring with two goals in the first two minutes of Wednesday's contest.

Senior Gio Nowotarski (Reading, Pa.) put the Falcons on the scoreboard when he charged down the field off an offsides call with a shot from 12 yards out.

Senior Max Esposito (Gaithersburg, Md.) tied the game on a sharp-angled shot off a wrap around the back of the net.

Elmhurst scored once more in the first quarter to take a 3-2 lead into the second quarter.

The Bluejays scored the first three goals of the second quarter to hold a 6-2 lead.

Gio Nowotarski bounced the ball in off a pass from junior Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minn.) for a man-up goal.

Elmhurst went into halftime leading 8-3.

Sophomore Bryce Petersen (Waukesha, Wis.) scored the lone goal for CUW in the third quarter on a side-armed shot off a pass from Preston Meier.

Max Esposito snapped the Bluejays scoring run in the fourth quarter after he crashed the net off a pass from senior Caleb Ruger (Grafton, Wis.).

Preston Meier scored the final goal of the game off an assist from Max Esposito.

Elmhurst held a 59-27 advantage in shots on Wednesday.

Freshman Nolan O'Malley (Chicago, Ill.) finished with 16 saves on the evening.

Gio Nowotarski led the attack with eight shots at Elmhurst.

The Falcons continue their tour of the Collegiate Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Saturday at North Central in Illinois.
