CUW Remains Undefeated with Win Over Calvin

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin acrobatics and tumbling team remained undefeated in the 2025 season, defeating Calvin by a score of 216.390 to 176.940.

With the win, the Falcons improved to 4-0 for the second time in program history. The last time Concordia achieved a 4-0 record was in 2021, when they finished the season with a 4-1 mark.

On Thursday, the Falcons posted the highest score in all but one heat.

Concordia started strong in the compulsory round, winning all heats and taking a commanding 30.400 to 19.400 lead. A standout moment came in the toss heat, where the Falcons earned a top score of 9.350.

The Falcons extended their lead in the acro event, scoring 23.750 points. The 7-element heat led the charge with an event-high score of 8.750, pushing Concordia's advantage to 54.150 to 40.250.

In the pyramid event, the Falcons continued to build their lead, posting 26.750 points to Calvin's 23.900. The open pyramid was particularly strong, earning 9.550 points as Concordia's lead grew to 80.900 to 64.150.

Out of the break, Concordia further stretched its advantage with 24.750 points in the toss event. The Falcons then dominated the tumbling event, scoring 40.600 points, including seven passes over 7.0 points. Sophomore Cadia Sanders (Joppa, Md.) led the way with a 7.625 in the open pass.

The Falcons sealed the win with a strong performance in the team event, scoring 70.140 points.

With the loss, Calvin University drops to 0-3 on the season. The Knights will host Adrian on March 19. Meanwhile, Concordia will return to the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse for their final home meet of the season on Wednesday, March 12, against Adrian, a meet that was rescheduled from earlier in the season.

The Falcons will aim for a 5-0 record, which would mark the first perfect start in program history and tie the second-most wins in a season, matching the 5-2 record set in 2017.
