Paityn Taormina earns NCATA Weekly Honorable Mention

MEQUON, Wis. – The National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) announced its week nine awards for the 2021 season and announced Paityn Taormina as its Freshman of the Week honorable mention selection.

A freshman from Geneva, Illinois, Paityn Taormina is claiming honorable mention honors for the first time in her career.

Taormina competed in six heats and team event for the Falcons last weekend. Her performance as highlighted by a 9.55 in open pyramid, a 9.35 in compulsory toss, and an 8.80 in the open toss.

Taormina and the Falcons finished the season with a season-high score of 245.645 points on Saturday.

Riley Chimwala of Baylor claimed the Freshman of the Week title, for her performance in Baylor's victory over Oregon.
