Andrea Hirth Named Triathlon Coach

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin Director of Athletics Dr. Rob Barnhill has announced Andrea Hirth as the triathlon head coach.

"I am extremely excited to be adding Andrea Hirth to our coaching roster as our new triathlon coach," said Barnhill. "She has the personal racing experience and longtime coaching experience that will benefit our triathlon student-athletes."

Her coaching career began in 2011 with a passion for the sport and a Level I USA Triathlon certification.  In March of 2018 coach Hirth obtained her USA Track & Field Level I Certification and in October of 2018 her USA Triathlon Level II Endurance certification.  Over her 10 years of coaching experience, she has worked with athletes of all abilities training for all distances from sprint to full Ironman.  Hirth's athletes have accomplished many personal bests, with two of them qualifying for the USAT Age Group National Championship.

"I am excited to join the coaching staff at Concordia," said Hirth. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to share my passion of triathlon with these hard-working young women."

Hirth has been an age group athlete since 2003 when she completed her first sprint triathlon.  Since then, she has competed in nearly 100 races of all distances from super sprint up to full Ironman events in nine different states.  She has qualified for and raced at the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championship six times since 2013.  Most recently, Hirth has achieved top-10 finishes in her age group for Ironman Tulsa, Oklahoma, in May 2021, and Ironman 70.3 Des Moines, Iowa, June 2021, where she earned an invitation to compete at the 70.3 World Championship in St. George, Utah, in September 2021.

She is married to Scott, and they have two daughters, Olivia and Megan.  In her free time, Hirth enjoys outdoor recreation including hiking, kayaking and golf.  She also enjoys traveling, gardening, photography and spending time at their lake cabin in northwestern Wisconsin.
