Titans Top Falcons in Overtime

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The CUW women's soccer team battled until the very end in a non-conference battle at Illinois Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons were edged in overtime, 4-3, to fall to 7-2-0 on the season.

The Green and White struck first on Sunday with a goal in the third minute.

Sophomore Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) leveled the match a minute later off an assist to junior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.).

Selena Esten gave the Falcons the lead in the 16th minute with an assist to Moore.

The Titans scored two goals to take a 3-2 lead into halftime.

Selena Esten struck again in the 87th minute to force overtime after a pass from junior Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway).

The Titans took the match with a goal in the first overtime session.

Senior Kaeley Sterkel (Dana Point, Calif.) secured 10 saves against the Titans.

The Green and White held a 25-17 shots advantage on Sunday. Karoline Haugland led CUW with six shots.

The Falcons will host MSOE in a battle of undefeated NACC teams on Wednesday.
