Women’s Golf Competed at the Carthage Border Battle

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons women's golf team sank its last put of their first tournament Saturday.  The weekend saw the Falcons posting a 15th place team score with 781 strokes.  Carthage College ended up winning their own meet with a final team score of 609.

The Falcons were led over the two-day tournament by sophomore Rebecca Curley (Winthrop Harbor, Ill.) with a final, two-day score of 183 (93-90).  In second on the team was freshman Elizabeth Montaba (Plymouth, Wis.) with a two-day score of 195 (98-97). 

Senior Payton Dorn (Freedom, Wis.) finished in the middle of the team with a final tournament score of 201 (105-96).  Behind her was another senior and captain Gabrielle Flocco (Castle Pines, Colo.) with a two-day score of 202 (100-102). 

The final member of the team was sophomore Kayla Samann (Campbellsport, Wis.) with a final score of 212 (105-107).

Along with the team, the Falcons also had an individual competing at the tournament.  Freshman Kaylee McCarty competed as an individual and posted scores of 135 and 131 for a final score of 266.

The Falcon women hit the course again Friday.
