Women's Golf tied for second at NACC Championship

BRISTOL, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin put itself in great position after the opening round at the NACC Championship on Friday afternoon at Bristol Oaks Golf Club. In addition, Nina Puch is in a tie for third place as an individual.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons had all five golfers shoot rounds below 100, which gave them a team score of 376 – there third best round of the season.
- Senior Nina Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.) fired an 88 to put her in a tied for third place, among 38 golfers.
- Freshman Kayla Haen (Appleton, Wis.) carded a 92 to tie for sixth place after the first 18 holes of play.
- Sophomore Haley Olkiewicz (Oshkosh, Wis.) is in a tie for 12th after signing for a 98, while senior Lexi Westphal (Brownsville, Wis.) also shot a 98.
- Junior Megan Reddersdorf (Marengo, Ill.) finds herself in a tie for 16th after shooting a 99.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Falcons trail tournament-leader Aurora by six shots after 18 holes of play. CUW is the only team to have all five golfers in the top 16 on the leaderboard.
- Last season the Falcons finished second in the NACC Championship to Aurora, but led by 17 strokes after the opening round. During the four titles CUW has won, it has never trailed after the opening round.
- Haen's 92 was a career low in the NACC Championship.
- Lauren Anderson and Nicole Funk, both from Aurora, are tied atop the leaderboard after shooting an 87.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- CUW plays the second round of the NACC Championship and are scheduled to tee off at 10:40 am.
