Puch wins medalist honors, Women's Golf wins Edgewood Triangular

MADISON, Wis. – Nina Puch began her senior season with an 82 to win medalist honors at the Edgewood College Triangular on Thursday afternoon at Yahara Hills Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, the Falcons won the Triangular to begin the fall portion of their season on the right path. They had four golfers finish in the top seven overall.
- Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.) won her 16th medalist honor of her career. The senior won the Triangular by four strokes to the next competitor who shot an 86.
- Freshman Kayla Haen (Appleton, Wis.) began her career with an 88, which was good for fourth place.
- Sophomore Hayley Olkiewicz (Oshkosh, Wis.) fired a career-low 90 to take sixth place. Her round was three shots better than her previous career low of 93, which see accomplished twice last year.
- Junior Megan Reddersdorf (Marengo, Ill.) fired a 92 to place seventh overall of 15 golfers.
- Junior Amanda Gorshe (Appleton, Wis.) and freshman Jessica Wengel (Fredonia, Wis.) tied for 11th place after shooting a 106.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Falcons 356 team total was tied for the eighth lowest round shot in program history, which, ironically was also shot at an Edgewood tournament in April of 2013.
- CUW had a lineup that consisted of three underclassmen and three upperclassmen. Wengel competed as an individual in the event.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will have a day off before traveling to Fond du Lac, Wis., for the Marian Invitational. The tournament will consist of 36 holes played at Whispering Springs Golf Course and Rolling Meadows Golf Club.
